Fall Membership Meeting in Boulder:

ColoRail's Fall General Meeting in Boulder was on Saturday, October 3rd at 2:00 PM at the Boulder Public Library.

Robert Rynerson reported on the amazing conditions of stations in Wyoming, the status of Amtrak's study and what may happen next. His presentation is available at YouTube and linked from the Pioneer page here.

Updates on North Front Range commuter and regional service plans and information researched by Bob Brewster on Light Rail in other US cities were also offered.

Spring Membership Meeting, Saturday, May 30, 2009:

On Saturday, May 30th, the combined ColoRail - NARP Regional meeting in Cheyenne was held with better weather. Amtrak addressed the interests of our region and the nation in a talk by Ray Lang.

Ray Lang is Senior Director - National State Relations located in Chicago. He deals with governors, state departments of transportation, mayors, state legislators, stakeholder groups, congressional offices, etc. His job basically is to strengthen Amtrak's relationships with those key stakeholders in advancing Amtrak's national legislative agenda.

Ray is a great speaker and will represent Amtrak well, according to those who know him. He will be new to most of us, but this also will be an opportunity for him to meet the Wyoming officials who plan to attend. And, it's a great chance for Coloradans and Nebraskans to develop connections with our neighbors -- connections that we know from experience are routinely severed by normal weather variations. With the study underway for a renewed 'Pioneer' service that might use the Denver - Boulder - Longmont - Fort Collins line to tap Cheyenne, interest in expanded rail passenger service is at a recent high.

ColoRail Monthly Board Meetings:

Board Meetings are held every second Monday of the month at 6:00 PM Mountain Time. The meetings are held at the Alliance Center, second floor conference room, 1536 Wynkoop Street.
